As expected, we are finally able to say officially that our boilers qualify for the $1500.00 tax credit available for biomass burners that is part of the American Recovery and Investment Act of 2009 stimulus package.  As many of you know the details of this bill state that the credit is “30% of the installed cost of the appliance with a cap of $1500.00”.  With the relatively high cost of a boiler, compared to a wood stove or a pellet stove, our customers will always cap-out at the $1500.00 maximum.  The official certificate is attached to this email and is also available for download from our web site. 

Please note that the Solo Plus boilers must use turbulators to qualify and that Excel boilers do NOT qualify for the credit. 

This certificate will be included with the warranty and manual with each qualifying boiler that ships from now on.  Because the credit is available for installations after January 1 of 2009, please forward a copy of this certificate to your customers who have already purchased boilers this year.  It is not necessary for the home owner to submit the certificate with their tax return, however, they are required to have it on hand for their records.  Consumers should consult their tax professional for any questions they may have about the program.
